Making a Reclaim Open submission for first time authors

Hello there and welcome to this guide to making a conference submission to Reclaim Open, especially for first time authors. We want to hear from you if you are a student just getting started with your first Domain of Your Own, or a new member of faculty, a freshly minted admin or edtech who is setting up their first Wordpress Multisite or ReclaimEDU domain.
Reclaim Open is a friendly conference, not too big and not too formal. We like to share practice, stories of things that haven't worked alongside success stories, and most of all we love to experiment and play with open educational technology.
This post will walk you through what to do, and share tips along the way.
Getting started
First things first, head over to the conference website and take a look at this year's themes:

Drafting your proposal
We are looking for proposals no more than 250 words long, and there is extra space to add names of colleagues and also include links to resources and further information.
To get started writing down your idea, consider:
- what story do you want to tell?
- what did you learn along the way?
- what might you share with others planning similar projects?
We accept proposals in a number of different session formats: most people will likely choose a presentation format, which is what most conference sessions will be. You can also choose to submit a blog post, which is similar to a poster presentation, and which will automatically be included in our blog-a-thon day on November 4th. If you are looking to bring people together informally, then choose the community/social session type.

Submitting your proposal
Once you are ready to submit, head over to the submission form. You can work on your draft in this form and save your progress as you go along, or you can simply copy & paste the final proposal into the form. Here's how:
You'll need to decide on a snappy title for your submission and pick a GIF (we love GIFs!). The text and information you submit will be displayed in the conference schedule come November.
Good luck with your submission!
