Student Showcase Winners: Red Dragon Portfolio Theme
In this series of posts we will showcase each of our winners, inviting you to explore their inspiring projects and hear from the voices of tomorrow that will help shape the web for the next generation.
Winner: Red Dragon Portfolio Theme
Developed by SUNY Oneonta Inclusive Design Lab
The Red Dragon Portfolio Theme is meant to be a portfolio starter theme for undergraduate students. Using the most modern and up to date features of WordPress Full Site Editing, this theme includes starter patterns for about me pages, resume pages, and contact pages.
To help students envision what a portfolio may look like, we used our school mascot Red for our placeholder text, instead of always defaulting to Lorum Ipsum text.
This theme will be the starting point of all new portfolios in our WordPress multisite in the Fall Semester, and we anticipate adding more patterns, or making changes to the template we give students based on feedback we collect from working peer-to-peer.
We are also in the process of updating the help articles on https://help.openlab.oneonta.edu/ to better integrate the Full Site Editing approach to managing a WordPress website, as we transition from traditional themes to block themes.
Tune in to the recording of the live showcase below to hear the team talk about the winning entry.
