We’re looking forward to taking part in the OEGlobal Conference 2026, which takes place October 7 – October 9 in Cambridge, Massachusetts & Online. We are long-standing supporters of the great work OEGlobal does, especially Open Education Week, which we join in with each year.
The event will celebrate the 18th anniversary of OEGlobal and the 25th anniversary of MIT OpenCourseWare. The conference will offer both in-person and online participation, fostering a diverse community of Open Education practitioners, policymakers, advocates, researchers, students, and decision-makers. Engage in discussions on the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in Open Education, while networking and initiating collaborations.

The Open EdTech Advantage: Winning Support (and Funding) in a Proprietary World
Taylor will be talking about how "the evolving landscape of technology demands a fundamental shift in how we approach the procurement of EdTech tools. Higher Ed institutions need access to and control over technology that is inherently transparent, and tools they can not only inspect for ethical use and data privacy but also confidently modify and trust for long-term sustainability. In an era where every vendor claims to have “AI inside,” the real competitive advantage is not a license key but a community: the students, faculty, and staff who can shape, sustain, and continuously improve the tools they use every day."
