Security Plugin Compatibility Issues with Installatron

We want to make users aware of a compatibility issue between Installatron and several popular WordPress security plugins:

• All In One Security
• Really Simple Security
• Better WP Security / iThemes Security (now Kadence Security)

These plugins may interfere with Installatron’s ability to properly connect to your WordPress installation, which can prevent automated backups and update management from functioning correctly. You will see an error like this in Installatron > My Applications:

If you wish to continue using Installatron’s backup and update features, we recommend deactivating these security plugins or reviewing their settings to ensure they are not blocking Installatron access.

It is important to note that Reclaim uses both Monarx and BitNinja on our cPanel servers to help prevent compromised sites and malicious activity at the server level.

For users looking for similar WordPress security functionality without interfering with Installatron, we currently recommend Wordfence. During setup, Wordfence has a free license and will ask you to register the site with an email address where it can send a free license key.

We have tested Wordfence and its default settings work correctly with Installatron. After installing Wordfence, we still recommend testing Installatron’s one-click login and backup functions to confirm everything is communicating properly.
